Green Tea Weight Loss


Using green tea in your weight loss efforts is one of the best choices you can make if you are serious about losing pounds and inches. Studies have been showing that green tea is a wonderful, natural way to increase your metabolism along with your body’s natural fat-burning processes and can aid in weight loss in ways many people never imagined.

The body naturally burns fat through a process called thermogenesis. Without green tea, energy is expended through thermogenesis at a rate of about 10 percent per day. Adding green tea to your weight loss program increases that rate to around 40 percent! Couple that with a sensible diet and exercise program, and you are well on your way to losing the weight you want to.

There are two ways to add green tea to your weight loss program. The first is to take it in liquid form. Find a brand that you like either at your local drugstore, a health food store, or supermarket. There are all sorts of choices out there for green tea both in bags as well as loose form. Don’t brew the tea too long. If you do, you will be decreasing its healing properties much like over-cooking vegetables will cause a loss of the natural vitamin content in them.

A second way to take green tea when you want to achieve weight loss is to find a dietary supplement that comes in pill form. There are also a number of these products on the market for sale. You will want to find one that contains a large amount of EGCG which is a powerful antioxidant that increases metabolism and burns fat.

Many green tea supplements also contain other elements that aid in weight loss. Hoodia is a recent product that has shown to promote and even increase weight loss. Chromium picolinate helps to promote a lean body, and caffeine that is naturally found in tea increases the body’s natural process of thermogenesis – fat burning – from ten percent without caffeine to over forty percent with it.

If you are serious about weight loss, you will seriously want to consider adding green tea to your program. Often, it is difficult to lose weight. When you have a product that can aid in the process, there really is no reason not to at least try it. Using green tea to promote weight loss is a step in the right direction.
